Meet Mrs. Klasing

My name is Kristin Klasing.  I began working at Little Flower in August of 1999.  I graduated from University of Illinois at Springfield with a bachelors degree in English and a Teaching Certificate with an English endorsement.  I am a Highly Qualified teacher recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education.  I was nominated for the Central Illinois Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching for the 2008-2009 school year.

Each year I attend workshops and seminars in order to keep current with the newest trends in teaching and motivating students, and managing the classroom environment.  It is exciting to bring what I learn back to my classroom to enhance my students learning and make our classroom a creative and fun place to be.  I am a member of the Illinois Reading Council and attend the Illinois Reading Conference.

I enjoy being involved in many school activities.  This year I am yearbook editor and hope to start a Yearbook Club.  I also am the coordinator of "Red Ribbon Week".

Some may know that I am also an alumni of LFS.  I graduated in 1990.  I am so happy to have the opportunity to return to my grade school to teach.  I was married in 2001 to my husband Keith, who is a teacher at Cathedral and St. Joseph Grade Schools.  We have one daughter, Erin,  who is in kindergarten here at LFS.  She is the third generation of my family to attend LFS.
